Itsy Bitsy Bows is an excellent prelude to Sevcik’s 40 Variations, Op. 3. Using a familiar children’s tune, a variety of bowings can be introduced at an earlier age. Bowings include detache, colle, richochet, spiccato, dove-tail, and Viotti style. Volume 1 is appropriate for beginning and intermediate level students and includes 16 variations.
